Most Eastern Garter Snakes can be distinguished from other snakes by the presence of three yellow longitudinal stripes down a dark body. On a few occasions they exhibit a checkered body pattern with lighter stripes and a grayish or reddish body color. These are great for all experience levels!

Natural Range: Southeast and most of North America. They can be found living within meadows, marshes, woodlands, and hillsides.
